Municipal / Public

Camden City Hall - Dedication and Renaming

Clients: The City of Camden and Camden County

Location: Camden, New Jersey

Project Statement: Anchor was proud to help honor a man who served his city and community for a lifetime. Camden County commissioned us to select appropriate signage and to develop construction documentation for this installation. Working under a tight timeframe and complete secrecy, Anchor Point collaborated with county officials to ensure the success of this project. We were involved in bidding, award, and construction administration.

Audubon Community Building

Client: The Borough of Audubon

Location: Audubon, New Jersey

Square Footage: 16,000 sf

Project Statement: This community building blends architectural styles seen across the Borough of Audubon. As a supportive community member, APA donated its design services for this project’s programming and feasibility phases. We completed the architectural and engineering construction documents, including a special geothermal layout.

Audubon Municipal & Police Addition

Client: The Borough of Audubon

Location: Audubon, New Jersey

Square Footage: 4,000 sf

Project Statement: This municipal facility received an addition to its police station area. Anchor created a full project feasibility report that Audubon used to obtain county funding for the project. We also met all state and federal requirements, and worked with the Borough on ongoing budget control, construction documentation, full bidding/negotiations, and construction administration support services.

Runnemede Municipal Complex

Client: The Borough of Runnemede

Location: Runnemede, New Jersey

Square Footage: 35,000 sf

Project Statement: This project converted a 35,000 S.F. retail hardware store and lumberyard into a new Town Hall facility. The challenges included retrofitting a retail facility while also working with strict municipal budget constraints and State requirements. Our design included a comprehensive Site Master Plan with phasing and options, and the new facility has municipal offices, police offices, local jailing/processing areas and court facilities. In addition to design, we provided approval and project bonding support facilitation, full architectural and engineering design and documentation, and complete construction administration services.

PIDC Eagles & Philles Parking Facility

Client: The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Project Statement: The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation—in conjunction with the City of Philadelphia, the Phillies, and the Eagles—needed to resolve its parking dilemma in South Philadelphia. We were contacted to coordinate the demolition/implosion of the former Naval Hospital and to design a new outdoor parking facility. We worked closely with local community groups to respond to their concerns and with city agencies to fast-track this project. The deadline for this project was unrealistic to put it mildly, but Anchor came through, producing a quality design that responded to the needs of all concerned. The project was awarded honorable mention for specialty project design by the General Building Contractors Association (GBCA).

Nationwide NALCOMIS Computer rooms

Client: United States Department of the Navy

Nationwide Locations:

Atlanta, Georgia

Willow Grove, Pennsylvania

China Lake, California

Weymouth, Massachusetts

Square Footage: Varies +/- 5,000 sf

Project Statement: Anchor’s principals served as Project Architect, Project Manager, and Project Facilitator of the NALCOMIS computer room and small building projects for the Untied States Navy, DVI and Xenotechnics, Inc. At the time, the Administration was very concerned about the large inventory at specific bases, and we were called in to design and coordinate the construction of computer rooms to handle the flow of equipment. Complete LAN systems were designed. The space designs included architectural raised floor systems, specialty mechanical cooling, and a dedicated electrical system design.

Pennsauken Parks

Client: The Borough of Pennsauken

Location: Pennsauken, New Jersey

Square Footage: n/a

Project Statement: Our firm’s principals were closely involved in renovating 9 parks throughout Pennsauken. For most sites, we designed new paths and play equipment areas (including equipment for 100% ADA use), and provided landscaping design and project budgeting. Other sites included tennis courts, roller hockey, and re-pavement. Our principals also represented the project at neighborhood meetings on coordination and signage.

First Juducial District - City of Philadelphia

Client: The First Judicial District

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Square Footage: 1,850 sf

Project Statement: Our principals were chosen to design two projects for the District. The first was a renovation and rehabilitation of historic office space within City Hall. The second was the comprehensive renovation of 14 floors at the 1401 Arch Street high-rise building, to be used for a judicial office and probation operations. Full services were provided to the city for both of these projects.
