Theological / Religious

Bible Baptist Church

Client: Bible Baptist Church

Location: New Egypt, New Jersey

Project Statement: Bible Baptist Church commissioned Anchor to design a new church facility for their expanding congregation. In addition to creating an aesthetically pleasing and functional space, Anchor Point worked with the client to control construction costs and used common materials in a unique way to develop an evocative design and form. The project is now in the final stages of construction documentation and will be issued for Bid and Permitting sometime this summer, with construction anticipated in the fall of 2014.

Mt. Nebo Holy Church

Client: Mt. Nebo Holy Church

Location: Mt. Holly, New Jersey

Project Statement: Mount Nebo Holy Church commissioned Anchor Point Architecture to design an addition to their existing building—a 100+-year-old school house—with the goal of creating a “new” church. We used a “link” to join the new addition to the existing structure. The completed design includes a beautiful new sanctuary, along with a new entrance and gathering space, classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, offices, a community room with kitchen, and an ADA-approved elevator.

World Harvest Christian Center

Client: Life In Christ Ministries, Inc.

Location: Pennsauken, New Jersey

Square Footage: 160,000 sf

Project Statement: The World Harvest Christian Center makes their home in a former warehouse with approximately 160,000 S.F. of floor area. They asked Anchor to create a Master Plan for an upgrade and renovation of the building, along with a plan for building repairs. We designed a new exterior façade that gave the church an identity and a presence. Our interior redesign included worship spaces, multi-purpose community spaces, youth center, daycare, meeting rooms, an administrative wing, and a café/religious book store. Anchor’s Master Plan also provided an improved exterior site design.

Queen of Apostles Roman Catholic Church Master Plan

Client: Queen of Apostles Roman Catholic Church

Location: Pennsville, New Jersey

Project Statement: Our planning services included a master site and building design. The goal was to link this historic church with the existing support buildings on-site. The design of a contextual “link” and grand entry, which was to follow an axial circulation pattern, connected it to the newly redesigned assembly room.

From the Heart Ministries

Client: From the Heart Ministries

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Square Footage: 20,000 sf

Project Statement: This international Ministry hired Anchor Point to design and renovate a Philadelphia facility. The project hinged on converting an existing Acme supermarket building. Anchor worked closely with the Regional Pastor and coordinated all of the professionals on the project. We turned a utilitarian space into a functional and high-design center for worship, including a two-story front entry area with an elaborate heavy timber open truss roof.
